this is a close up of the solar panel installed on my bag. i =2500&cHash=d66a0209d4]bought it over a year ago, convinced of the principle that while i was walking on the streets, this solar panel would collect the sun light and load up a battery why then would load my energy hungry mobile phone, mp3 player and other gadgets i'm carrying around (i have a weak spot for such early adapter stuff;-).

well, that was the advertised theory. in reality, the panel is not big enough to load the battery, although it is constantly claiming to be 100% full, it doesn't provide the capacity to load any of my devices... after 5 minutes, the battery is drained and the mobile or mp3 player gained maybe 5% energy...

furthermore, the solar panel is so stiff and opens upwards in a way that it is very inconvenient to place things or take them out of the bag; the flap is always in the way, the bag's material is of such bad quality that it is torn on some parts very easily, it is not balanced (due to the heavy flap with the panel) so it doesn't stand on it's bottom and i'm just waiting that the band i wear it with on my shoulder will rip out of the plastic grip...

why do i tell you all that?
well, first of all: don't buy anything like it. these things are alpha-alpha-beta, obviously the technology is not ripe yet.
second, don't mix ideology with technology. it almost ever ends in disaster.
third, since i bought two of these bags (one to give to my wife who has refused to use it for practical reasons), i'm offering the unused one for 1/3rd of the price it originally costed (CHF 349.-), so for CHF 114.- (plus shipping costs) you'd help me getting rid of this thing AND would be the proud owner of a solar bag, made in switzerland.
fourth; why should you consider this? because actually, the bag is quite pretty. the solar panel glisters in the sunlight, promising a better future. it's a real eye catcher, too - it's been the reason why i'm quite often involved in small talk at the bus station, while sitting in the train and when having a drink in the bar... ;-)

leave me a message here, first serious offer gets the bag!

I'm so excited about it. This may not make sense to most of the guys, but there are no camera bags that I have found that are made specifically for females. I just wanted something small that I could carry my camera safely in and not have to carry a purse as well. Anyway... I think it's kind of cute. It holds my camera body and my 50mm.

Powered by Photoblog.com
